What to include
Four things make a problem fixable the first time.
- Which extension or module
- The name and version — in VS Code, the Extensions view shows the version beside the extension’s name. For a module, say which one and what page you were on.
- What you did, what you expected, what happened
- The steps, then the difference. A screenshot of the message or panel is worth a paragraph.
- Your VS Code version
- Help → About. Also say whether you use the AppSite AI mode or the My CLI mode.
- Never a secret
- Do not send passwords, API keys, tokens or the contents of a .env file. If a screenshot shows one, cover it first.
